Objective 1

Articulating and applying a philosophy of service that incorporates an awareness of the legacy of libraries and information centers within our culture.

Brookfield Public Library Teen Library Program

This YA program was executed during my practicum at Brookfield Public Library and it shows how far libraries have come when it comes to programming for the public. It not only is targeted towards a Young Adult audience (which has not existed for more than 60 years, a small span time in the library world), but it also is a program that supports and recognizes anime, a world that most adults don't know about.

This program, as the flyer states, featured candy sushi making as well as customize anime t-shirts that the children could decorate themselves with their favorite anime character or anything anime related.

UofA Library Rare Art Collection Website

This website was part of the University of Atlantic Library Marketing Plan to help promote the newly founded Rare Art Collection. This collection features books from subjects such as illustration to illuminated manuscripts. The site also promotes exhibits that are co-sponsored between the Library and the Fine Art Department. Its main purpose is to promote the library's rare art collection to get people to notice how many ways art can be interpreted, whether its in the form of paintings or books.
